Tarta de chocolate de mi abuela Carmen

¡Hola amigos!

My abuela Carmen always dreamed of becoming a baker and selling her sweets, cakes and biscuits. Life had another plans for her, but la abuela Carmen never stopped baking and she was always looking for an excuse to prepare sweets for family and friends.

This is her chocolate cake recipe. Since I was a child I remember celebrating all my birthdays with this cake. As a kid my grandmother made it, then it was my mother and now I make it myself.

Ingredients:

Baking chocolate - 500 g
Butter - 200 g
Eggs - 3
(Maria) biscuits - 400 g
Milk - 300 ml
Coffee - 1 espresso
Sugar - 1 tbsp

Preparation:

1. Chop the chocolate and melt it to bain-marie.
2. Separate the egg whites and yolks and whisk the 3 whites up to firm peaks.
3. Mix the yolks with the butter.
4. Carefully add the melted chocolate to the whites and then finally pour the yolks and butter.
5. Let the mixture stand for an hour.
6. Mix the milk, sugar and coffee in a deep plate to be able dip the biscuits.
7. Carefully dip the biscuits (one by one) in the coffee and create the first layer on the base of the cake mold. Alternate layers of chocolate and biscuits.
8. Finally, cover the cake with a thick layer of chocolate and...
9. Decoration time! You can use whipped cream, chopped biscuits or (my favourite) chocolate and salt flakes.

Amigos ¡Qué aproveche!
